Meet Amy

I've taught Elementary General (Classroom) music for nine years. After nine years of classroom vocal music, Orff Ensemble, Musical Direction, and Chorus instruction, I made the jump from teacher to principal.  As a teacher, I taught grades K-6 once every four days. I also worked with two part time learning support classes weekly, who brightened my day when they entered the room.  I made it my mission to teach in a very active, hands-on manner.  My students were always involved in the music making process. I also enjoyed incorporating technology into my lessons.

In the evenings, I run a private violin and viola studio out of my home. I am certified as a K-12 Principal as well, so I work to incorporate reading, writing, and cross curricular skills into my lessons and school-wide activities.

I attended Penn State University in University Park, PA for my undergraduate degree, participating in the Schreyer Honors College. I earned my Masters in Music Education degree from West Chester University. I attained my principal certification from Penn State University. I am working on my Reading Specialist Certification currently from Eastern Mennonite University.
